If you’re building a countertop, shower wall, fireplace, or exterior wall, chances are you’ll need materials in the size and strength of All Stone Resources slabs. Slabs are available in varying sizes in granite, marble, slates, and travertine. The following are approximate sizes for All Stone Resources’ slab options:

• Granite: 55-58 square feet per slab
• Marble: 50 – 55 square feet per slab
• Slates: 12 square feet per slab
• Travertine: 35 square feet per slab

It’s important to consider the nature of your project before selecting the type of slab you’ll use, as the different properties of each stone work better in some environments than others. Granite is the most commonly used slab, and can be found almost anywhere, including countertops, fireplaces, and interior and exterior walls. Marble slabs can duplicate the functionality of granite, but is softer and requires sealing to avoid stains. Travertine stands apart from marble or granite, as it is dull instead of shiny. Like marble, travertine requires sealing for protection. Slates are only used for flooring, generally in commercial spaces. Slates are much softer than the other slab stones and radiate heat, which may or may not be ideal for your situation.
